Did You Catch the Red Sox Game? Red Sox Just Can’t Win Two-In-A-Row

Here at Pink Hat Sports, we know that even the most die-hard fans have lives outside of sports. No one can see every game.

So if you missed Tuesday’s Red Sox game, here’s what you’ll want to know before you hit the water cooler.

The Game: Boston Red Sox v. Kansas City Royals

The Score: Red Sox: 4, Royals: 5

The Recap: Starting pitcher Daniel Bard couldn’t put the Sox in a position to win tonight. He pitched into the 7th inning, and in the process, allowed five runs, six hits, four walks and had only one strikeout. Bard had an especially tough second inning, with 2 balks – a rare pair of missteps for a seasoned pitcher.  Will Middlebrooks continued his hitting streak, hitting a double in the 2nd inning. He got injured while running the bases though, and had to leave the game.

Beyond the Score: Will Middlebrooks left the game in the 2nd inning with an injury. After such a strong start, we’re hoping it’s nothing serious. At the same time. Manager Ben Cherrington hs said that Kevin Youkilis will return to his spot at 3rd base when he’s off the DL. That has everyone speculating about Middlebrooks. Heads will be scratching if they send him back to Pawtucket after he’s had such a huge role in this so-far-depressing season.
