Here at Pink Hat Sports, we know that even the most die-hard fans have lives outside of sports. No one can see every game.
So if you missed last night’s Red Sox game, here’s what you’ll want to know before you head off to your kid’s soccer game today.
The Game: Baltimore Orioles v. Boston Red Sox
The Score: Red Sox: 4, Orioles: 6
The Recap: John Lester started for the Sox, and pitched well, not great for the first 5 innings. When he left the game the Sox were ahead, 4-3. Padilla came in as the relief pitcher and couldn’t hold onto the lead, giving up a run. The game remained tied until the top of the 13th inning, when the Orioles’ Chris Davis drove in the go-ahead run. Unfortunately, the Sox just couldn’t get it done tonight.
Beyond the Score: This was the Sox longest game of the year to date, at more than 4 1/2 hours. Middlebrooks continued to demonstrate his abilities in the Majors, with a double off the Green Monster in the 4th inning. The Sox have now lost 3 in a row, and sit at the bottom of the AL East standings. Hopefully they can recover tomorrow, when Aaron Cook makes his debut appearance as a starting pitcher for Boston.
